A Nigerian pilgrim on arrival in Saudi Arabia has gotten the shock of his life.
Vanguard reports that the Nigerian was in Saudi Arabia for the annual Haj (pilgrimage) when a metal detecting machine at the airport in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah did not stop bleeping.
He was however told by the Policemen to remove all metal objects on him. But when he came back again to the machine, it kept on bleeping. He was then taken for a scan and he was told that there is a pair of scissors in his stomach.
“He was taken for a scan at the hospital and the big surprise was that it showed there is a big scissors inside his abdomen,”the Saudi daily ‘Al Wata’n said.
“When he was told about it, the pilgrim got a shock. He said that he underwent a surgery nearly 15 years ago but never had any pain,”the paper added, without saying whether the pilgrim was allowed to continue the holy journey.
Meanwhile, there was a crane mishap in Meccaon Friday, September 11, which left 107 people dead and not less than 200 injured. The incident at the Muslim holy city affected the Nigerians too.
